![]() Naturally, the fact that the company is securing more and more of the market share stands as an endorsement of Samsung general quality. Granted, the home appliances that Samsung first gained its name for was a lot more primitive than what the average household uses now.īut, they have managed to keep up with and even stay ahead of the times, offering top-of-the-range tech solutions at entirely reasonable prices. Unsurprisingly, Samsung is best known in the realm of home appliances too. In addition to that, Samsung has its fingers in an awful lot of pies, and in most areas that they’ve gotten into, they have become market leaders. If you have the budget, there are few companies out there who can compete with Samsung for reliability, quality of build, and ease of use. In this article, we will exploring some troubleshooting methods for your “offline” Samsung SmartThings Hub. Like many others still waiting on further feedback from Google after going thru the usual crap a few days ago with telephone conversation.Īlso has anyone had any joy with getting compo from them? I haven't even got a receipt for mine as it came with a new install.įurthermore, I've just checked my activity log for today having had a busy to and fro kinda day and the Activity log accurately records my comings and goings but as others point out this isn't reflected by the NLT's response. For those of you who favor using Samsung tech on a daily basis, you will know their strengths and weaknesses. Sorry,I know not much help but needed to share my experience. This may sound daft but it feels a bit like when light switches upstairs and downstairs get out of sync so that they're not all in the same position when lights are on or off. ie Away but heating on, Away but showing as at Home on the app but also in Eco mode and the Home but stuck in Eco mode. I've also experienced various failures in the home/away assist. I've reset to factory the NLT and wiped Nest and Home apps from both phones. I only had Smartthing no nest on wifes, none samsung phone.Īs others are saying it does feel like the geofencing is failing somehow in Nest but I am wondering if I've installed older app and the actual NLT hasn't had an update since 2019, I don't understand what else there is to break what was previously working fine. I also tried Samsung Smartthings which worked once but then when I added it to my wifes phone it went out of sync. I'm on android and have downloaded previous iterations of the app both recent and from over a year ago, namely 5.66.0.7 and 5.56.0.2 hoping for a fix but no. I notice that people have been saying it's broken since the app was updated. I now keep a spare on hand ($50 part) to avoid being caught in the same position. Nobody stocks that part, so you either have to buy a whole new NLT in the store, or wait for a base plate to be delivered. I have no idea what it contains that could fail. If you search online this is a common failure. ![]() The base plate, which looks like a dumb connector for the wires, had failed. They diagnosed a hardware issue with the Nest. I tried everything, but eventually had to get the HVAC guys out. My NLT just stopped working late on a cold weekend. Both Eco and Safety temperatures would normally default to more than 40° (what do these say in your settings?) If this was just a home/away failure your home should have stayed above the Eco temperature.Īt least it was a software issue. The home/away failure was probably a result of everything else on the Nest not working. That is absolutely awful, but it sounds like you had a different issue the Nests were not working at all, even when you manually adjusted them. ![]()
